The Oman Sultan founded Amouage, a high-end fragrance company, in Oman in 1983. Amouage uses components that are customary for the Middle East, such as agarwood, incense, musk, rose, and spices, yet the perfumes are created by perfumers from the top fragrance and flavor companies.
The majority of the perfumes come in the classic Amouage bottles; those for ladies are shaped after the Palace Ruwi Mosque in Muskat, Oman, while those for men are shaped like the Khanjar, the local dagger.
